2025 GM Christmas Letter

December 2025

It’s Christmas time in the City

Silver bells, silver bells

It’s Christmas time in the city

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks

Dressed in holiday style

In the air

There’s a feeling

of Christmas

San Francisco is illuminated with holiday light installations, SF Glow, Aura at Grace Cathedral, and Lightscape, a tunnel of lights, in the Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park.

Hotels on Nob Hill and Huntington Park are all lit with festive holiday lights.

The Union Square Christmas tree is covered in lights. Stockton at Geary is cordoned off for the Winter Walk for visitors to grab a hot chocolate and rest while being entertained by the ice skaters on the rink or listen to the various music concerts.

The Bill Graham Menorah on the Square is lit daily during the Chanukkah holiday

There are still puppies and kittens in Macy’s windows. The tree in Neiman Marcus glistens while shoppers dine at the Rotunda on the best burger or my favorite lobster club sandwich.

Children laughing,

people passing

Meeting smile after smile

And on every street corner

You’ll hear

Silver bells, silver bells

It’s Christmas time in the City

This Holiday season has been festive and full of light thanks to SF Glow which is especially helpful since the mythic tule fog has returned during December.

When returning to the Suites in the evening, look up to the rooftop gazebo which is now a beacon of lights, welcoming you back to your home away from home.

The Suites lobby is festooned with garlands, wreathes, poinsettia plants and a glorious Christmas tree all covered with lights.

The fireplace flickers, as guests enjoy the wine hour, sharing stories of recent adventures amidst much laughter.

Strings of street lights

Even stop lights

Blink a red and a green

As the shoppers rush

Home with their treasures

Holiday events not to miss

  • Aura at Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill

  • Lightscape tunnel of lights in Botanical Gardens, Golden Gate Park

  • Ice skating at Union Square

Children laughing

People passing

Meeting smile after smile

And on every street corner

You’ll hear

Silver bells, silver bells

It’s Christmas time in the City
